New Installation Equipment We service ALL brands, but here are the ones we install About Our Owner Owner Jordan Faltysek has been in the HVAC Industry for 20 years. He was raised right here in the Brazos Valley and is a 2001 graduate of A&M Consolidated High School. He received his degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology in 2004 from Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX. Jordan is married to his high school sweet heart Katie and together they have three kids. Daylan, Lillie, and Eastan. Right out of college, Jordan went to work for a commercial air conditioning and industrial refrigeration corporation based in Houston, TX. He spent 8 years with the company working as a certified service technician. While with this company, Jordan gained the knowledge and confidence to work on and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment for many different applications. He has either maintained, repaired, or replaced conventional and heat pump split systems, roof top packaged units, air cooled and water cooled chillers, cooling towers, and process chillers to name a few. He also has experience with building automation systems, ABB Direct Drives, and pneumatic controls. He has worked in and out of chemical plants, high rise buildings, manufacturing facilities, and everyday small businesses. He quickly moved up the ranks within the company and was assigned to oversee maintenance at the BAE Systems plant in Sealy, TX. From there, he was assigned more accounts including Memorial Hermann Imaging Centers, Texas Tile manufacturing plant, Service Corporation International headquarters, and Stewart & Stevenson's Telge Road Facility. Jordan had started the path to a great career in Houston, but always felt a drive to come back home to Aggieland. In 2012, with his wife's blessing, Jordan moved his family back home to College Station and started F5 Air Conditioning. It wasn't a success story from the start. Jordan worked out of his 2 door car and his wife's SUV doing residential installs by himself for his father, a local home builder. But in 3 short years, he picked up installation jobs with 3 other home builders and built a name on the service side that local residents could trust. F5 Air has been built on word of mouth only. 11 years later and we still strive to keep that trust with our customers. Katie has joined Jordan in the office and together they make F5 what it is. A local family ran business that is committed to making F5 Air Conditioning the company you can always trust.

Frequently Asked Questions About HVAC Companies

Find answers to common questions about HVAC services, finding contractors, and getting the best HVAC systems for your needs.

What is a SEER rating, and why is it important?

SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) measures an air conditioner's cooling efficiency. Higher SEER ratings indicate greater energy efficiency. The minimum SEER rating for new AC units is typically 14, but higher SEER units (16-20 or more) are available. Choosing a higher SEER unit may have a higher upfront cost, but it can result in significant long-term energy savings.

What is the difference between an AC unit and a heat pump?

While both air conditioners and heat pumps provide cooling, they differ in how they generate heat. An AC unit cools your home by extracting heat and transferring it outside. It uses a separate furnace or heating system for heating in colder months. A heat pump, however, can both cool and heat. In cooling mode, it functions like an AC, extracting heat from indoor air and releasing it outdoors. In heating mode, it reverses this process, extracting heat from the outside air (even in cold temperatures) and transferring it inside. This makes heat pumps more energy-efficient for heating than traditional electric resistance heating, especially in mild to moderately cold climates.

How can I reduce my HVAC energy consumption?

You can reduce HVAC energy consumption and lower your bills by:
  • Regular Maintenance: Schedule annual HVAC maintenance to ensure your system is running at peak efficiency.
  • Programmable Thermostat: Use a programmable or smart thermostat to optimize temperature settings based on your schedule.
  • Seal Air Leaks: Caulk and weatherstrip windows and doors to prevent drafts.
  • Proper Insulation: Ensure adequate insulation in your attic, walls, and floors to prevent heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer.
  • Ventilation: Use fans strategically to circulate air and reduce reliance on AC.
  • Energy-Efficient Appliances: Choose energy-efficient appliances to reduce your overall energy load.
  • HVAC Zoning: Consider zoning your HVAC system to condition different areas of your home separately.

What is the best temperature to set my thermostat in summer?

The best temperature to set your thermostat in summer depends on your personal preferences and how much you’re willing to spend on energy costs. A general recommendation is to set your thermostat to 78°F (26°C) when you're home and awake. Consider a programmable thermostat that allows you to automatically adjust the temperature based on your schedule.
