They began as a crew of two installing commercial and residential heating conversion systems when Anchorage made the switch from oil to natural gas in the mid-1960s. Jan van den Top joined the company in 1978, bringing his training and experience as a mechanical engineer on board. From those humble, no nonsense beginnings and backed by early success, Superior Plumbing and Heating, Inc. moved into new construction in Anchorage and later expanded into all areas of the State, helping to build Alaska from the inside out. Starting in 1999 as a one-man service shop, we have since expanded to include over 25 permanent and seasonal employees. Owners Dan and Janice Kittoe, a husband and wife team, have over 30 years of experience working in Alaska's plumbing and HVAC industry. As Dan says, "We pride ourselves on our mom-and-pop style by treating our customers with a professional yet personable manner."
